Our Mission

Who we are

Lake Maggiore Bike Tours is born from an idea of Elia and Stefano Sacchelli, two brothers of Verbania passionate about Outdoor since they were children. In 2016 and 2017 we participated in the National Mountain Bike Academy course, acquiring the title of MTB Guides. The first step to realise a new path with the intent of sharing our passion and possibly creating a new profession.

While acting as independent guides of the National Mountain Bike Academy, we immediately wanted have an identity and instrument that could enhance both our territory, but also our our vision and idea results of our private and professional experiences both in Italy and abroad. In 2018 and 2019 we collected first results, coming from important collaborations with Accademia Nazionale di Mountain Bike Tours, Italy Bike Tours and several local realities also interested in starting a new path in this wonderful sector. We helped manage large groups, as well as numerous Private Guides made for individuals or small groups from around the world.

In 2019 we met Paolo Gaglione from Lombardy side of Lake Maggiore. He also passionate about MTB and obtained the patent as Cycling Guide in June. His enthusiasm and competence has convinced us to join forces and present ourselves as a unique reality on Lake Maggiore, overcoming the barriers and borders that traditionally separate the two sides.

Starting from 2020/2021 Elia Became an official Regional and National Cycling Guides changing and improving possibilities. In fact we started to create a more indipendent selling process along offering more services as MTB, Gravel, Road Bike and E-bike guided Tours.

We have always believed that the whole territory of Lake Maggiore has great potential for cycling and hiking. The idea worked. The project therefore evolves and aims to create an increasingly active network of partners in promoting sustainable tourism in our area. A tourism made not only of "foreigners" but also of Italians and locals who want to connect with the environment and the roots of our culture, with a healthy way to move and socialise.

From 2024 Elia also started to Guide as Trekking Guide, but sticking to cycling the big step has been the introduction of Travel around the World. We are keep dreaming and this is the space for having some private Guides truly passiona with a lots of will to create memorable experiences.

Things to know - Recommendation

The tours you find on this site are designed to be available for everybody, regardless the level of experience. These are vast areas, where we can adapt and create the tour according to specific needs. Our recommendation is to always be honest about your own level, giving us the chance to create an enjoyable experience. They do not contain precise indications on the trails / roads as the conditions of the explorer, climatic and physical-mental conditions of the explorer can affect the choice of the most suitable route during the trip. It is important for the participant to initially choose an area (easy to reach or of interest) and define the time available. Depending on the individual training status, verified by the Guide in the initial check, it will be possible to estimate the distances and the degree of difficult.

  • Despite particular monuments and / or events in the itineraries may be mentioned, is not intend we are touristic guide, so please refer to them if this service is needed (This is decided by Italian Law). Tour can be programmed to reach the attraction before or at the end of the trip, in some cases to make a stop during the route.

  • Those who are accompanied don't have to worry about "finding" their way. Following a Guide is much easier and fun than following a map or computer cycle. The guide anticipates and explains the characteristics of the path, facilitating a fluid and safe conduction. The same path can have variations with different degrees of difficulty, that's why the excursion is not identified with a single symbol.

  • In group tours the weakest component determines the pace, we still try to form homogeneous groups.
