Autumn : Alpine MTB time

Una classica in MTB per gli appassionati più esperti :il passo del Gries . Un tempo promettente con un caldo anomalo in questo autunno ci fa venir voglia di sporcare ancora un po le nostre Mountain Bike . Ed ecco subito pronti a Riale per partire con la nostra avventura ripercorrendo un itinerario tra laghi montani e vette già innevate dalla prima neve. Partiamo con un sole timido sulla mulattiera che facilmente ci porta in quota al lago Castel . Dopo una breve pausa pronti e. via per il divertentissimo singletrack che ci porta sul versante della Val Bedretto in Svizzera e con tortuosi tornanti e tanto fango . Che meraviglia ! Arrivati alla capanna Gries ci aspetta il fatidico momento del portage e sul percorso troviamo alcuni biker arrivare dalla via opposta . Non siamo gli unici ad avere strane voglie di MTB in autunno per fortuna!
Camminiamo un po su neve e un po su sentieri in direzione dell capanna del gries , silenziosa struttura che custodisce il Bettelmat il lago e il ghiacciaio del Gries . Si alza un vento leggero , quel poco che basta a farci percepire i 6° ancora più pungenti forzandoci ad una discesa affrettata giù per il ripido sentiero che porta al Bettelmat . Destra sinistra destra sinistra sasso roccia buco sali scendi . Non è una discesa per tutti , ci vuole un carattere tecnico , attenzione estrema ma in poco istanti si arriva nella famosa conca del Bettelmat . La magia dell’autunno è solo un un breve istante che va catturato con avventure come queste prima della grande neve e dell’inverno . Con questi colori accesi la Formazza ci regala una giornata stupenda e sporchi e stanchi voltiamo alla prossima stagione MTB !

A classic MTB for the more experienced enthusiasts: the Gries pass. A promising weather with an abnormal heat this fall makes us want dirty our Mountain Bikes again. And here we are in Riale to start with our adventure among alpine mountain lakes and peaks already whitened by the first snow. Let's start with a timid sun on the muleteers track that easily leads us to the Castel lake. After a short break, ready for the wonderful singletrack that takes us to the side of the Val Bedretto in Switzerland with winding twists and lots of mud. Magic! Arriving at the Gries hut the fateful moment of portage awaits us and on the way we find some bikers arriving from the opposite way. We are not the only ones to have strange MTB cravings this moment fortunately!
We walk a little on snow and a little on paths in the direction of the hut of the gries, a silent structure that guards the Bettelmat the lake and the Gries glacier. A light wind rises, that little that is enough to make us perceive the 6° even more pungent forcing us to a hasty descent down the steep path that leads to the Bettelmat. Right, left, right, left, rock, stone, hole, up and down. It is not a descent for everyone, it takes a technical character, extreme attention but in a few moments you arrive in the famous Bettelmat basin. The magic of autumn is only a brief moment that must be captured with adventures like these before the big snow and winter. With these bright colors the Formazza gives us a wonderful day and dirty and tired we turn to the next MTB season.
